Rihanna & Drake Rekindle Romance After MTV VMAs

Two nights later, after the VMA awards, which were held at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, Rihanna and Drake reportdly headed to PDH Rooftop to party with other huge names such as Beyonce and Jay-Z. Though she dressed down for the actual awards show, wearing a simple T-shirt and denim jeans, Rihanna showed off her sex appeal afterward in a black sparkled minidress. When she left the rooftop party with a drink in her hand, Drake left just minutes later.

 

Massive Turnout for 50th Anniversary of MLK “I Have A Dream” Speech

In 1963, Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. helped lead the civil rights March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Thousands walked through The Mall to the Lincoln Memorial where he would deliver one of the most important speeches ever made in American History using the famous words “I have a dream…”

Fifty years later thousands returned to march again and continue Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. Organized by Reverend Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King III, King’s oldest son, the “National Action to Realize the Dream” march and rally on Saturday (Aug. 24) were fueled by the recent prejudices in the 2012 shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin. Jay-Z’s Samsung Magna Carta App Under Investigation

Jay-Z may have instituted #NewRules with the release of his twelfth studio album Magna Carta Holy Grail that was delivered to users exclusively through Samsung but now the app is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission for possibly violating users’ privacy.

Users were required to provide personal information including their age, phone call history, and location when accessing the app. They were also required to cough up their Facebook and Twitter information in order to give the app permission to post status updates on their behalf. Still, the multi-prerequisites didn’t stop an estimated 1.2 million people from downloading the app and enjoying the sounds of Hov. Continue reading

Obama Issues Statement on Trayvon Martin Verdict

The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America.

I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken.

I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities.

We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin.

Drake Named Most Influential Rapper On Social Media

During the past 12 months, Drake has been the subject of over 46.2 million social conversations.

The Canadian-bred artist, beat out Watch the Throne collaborators Kanye West and Jay-Z, as well as his YMCMB boss Lil Wayne.

Lauryn Hill starts prison sentence

Singer Lauryn Hill reported to federal prison on Monday to begin a three-month sentence for failing to pay federal income taxes.

The musician and mother of six pleaded guilty last year to three counts of failing to file tax returns on more than $1.8 million from 2005 to 2007.

The Grammy winning artist was sentenced to three months in federal prison, which she’ll serve at a low security female facility in Danbury, Connecticut.
